In Chinese history, there are five kinds of fairies --- heaven fairy (天仙), earth fairy(地仙), godlike fairy (神仙), human fairy(人仙)and ghost fairy(鬼仙); and in Chinese Medicine, hyoscyamus niger is honored as a fairy, too. According to my parents, once there were two kinds of fairies who lived among the hyscyamus niger plants, the godlike fairy and the ghost fairy. On one hand, the godlike fairy healed all kinds of skin diseases of human being, including the infections, with the seeds of the plant. On the other hand, the ghost fairy killed people with the seeds instead. How could such things happened?
Based on the Chinese Daoist (or Taoist) philosophy, in general the godlike fairy and the skin are pertain to Yang, and the ghost fairy and the stomach pertain to Yin. Therefore, the godlike fairy applied the seeds of the hyoscyamus niger on the people’s skin externally, and the ghost fairy treated the people with the seeds as tea internally. Those with Hyoscyamus seeds on their skins, all the skin problems were healed, but all those who drank the tea of the seeds died.
The hyoscyamus niger seed has been used for external application by the Chinese people for thousands of years. Due to its remarkable result in healing, people call the seed as “The Seed of the Fairy (天仙子,Tian Xian Zi).” The seed are poisonous if you ate it or drank the tea of it, but it is very safe for external application. However, if your parents are familiar with this plants, all you have to do is to mix the seeds with clear and clean water, make it as a poultice and then apply on a boil, a cut or a wound. Even though it could hardly cause any side effect, you still need someone to guide you to use it appropriately, to prevent any harm from happening.
As soon as you applied the poultice on your skin, it started to suck the germs, poisons, pus, and so on, toward the poultice, and it relieves the pain and the pressure within your tissues. That’s how it work. It is very simple and safe. And that’s why people call it as The Seed of The Fairy.
Unfortunately, nowadays people had received too many kinds of vaccinations, and their immunity become too low to force cysts or tumors out toward the skin. Therefore even if you applied the天仙子( Tian Xian Zi, hyoscyamus niger) to try to pop them out, it would not be easy. Because your body need the power to infect the tumor and the cancer, and turn them into pus first.
Well, who you could trust --- the godlike fairy or the ghost fairy? The Chinese medicine practitioners or the Western traditional practitioners? You are the boss, you have to learn to help yourself and your family.
P. S. --- You are your own, primary, healthcare provider; if you had ever diagnosed yourself inaccurately, later on you could be mistreated by other practitioners, too. For more information, please visit us again.
You are the boss of your own healthcare, in other words, you are your own and primary healthcare practitioner. If you had ever misdiagnosed yourself, probably you could be mistreated by other practitioners as well.
For example, if you had lower back pain and you kept eating potatoes, bananas, peaches, etc., most likely you would not be able to get well. Unfortunately, your doctors’ opinions might be different from mine.
Years ago, a young man who had had suffered from lower back pain for about five months, finally he was referred to me by his good friends. During the initial visit, he told me that he had been treated by several doctors, and a week prior to seeing me he had a blood test.
He asked me what kinds of foods he should or should not eat. When he mentioned to me about banana, I told him that he should avoid eating banana. Hearing of such a strange idea, he was so angry at me for his doctor had suggested him to eat one banana per day, for his potassium level was too low according to his blood test.
Who should he trust? Did I misdiagnose him? Well, I had inserted one more needle behind his knee, that’s it. Then he asked my wife if he could take some Chinese herbs to speed up the healing process, so my wife prescribed some herbs for him to cook and drink. I wondered if he could drink the herbal tea, or would he come back for one more acupuncture treatmen?!
He did. Since the initial treatment a week ago, he did not experience any lower back pain again. What a big relief for me, he came back. His case had reminded me of foot notes from those laboratory technicians of the middle 1990s, which stated “Your doctors should not diagnose or treat you based on these findings.”
Those kinds of foot notes had puzzled me for a few months, for if the results of those tests were accurate why the doctors should not use them? Finally one day I heard of a so-called “CYA.” The CYA concept suddenly cleared my thought --- As the blood tested are sort of garbages from our organs, so as those trashes the Western Disposal Services had collected, buried or recycled, were come from our kitchens. Neither the tested blood could represent a person’s overall health, nor the kitchen trashes could represent the whole environment of his house.
Furthermore, the laboratory technicians had no idea if the doctors could understand and use those findings, which are so complicate, appropriately. Usually not, and this young man’s case is just one of the thousands. In case, if your diagnosis of your own illness or condition was inaccurate, later on you could be mistreated by other practitioners as well.
During the second, which was also the last, treatment, I told the young man of my “common sense” --- In 1986, one day on my way home from Denver, I got onto Highway I-25 from the entry 213 and got off it at exit 217 during rush-hour. I had to stop my car on the highway over 100 times, even though there were signs of speed limit, 40 to 55 MPH. The highway patrols neither came and gave me a ticket, nor asked me to speed up. They use common sense in their job, but your doctors might not. No doubt, you might be mistreated.
P. S. --- Your small amount of donation is welcome, for helping those who needed your support. Thank you.
In the middle 1990s, there was a skier, Mr M, who had two ski accidents in six days, and after the second injury was occurred it took people two hours to be able to bring him out of the site and then got him in an ambulance. On his way home after the second injury, he came for an acupuncture treatment. It was a Thursday afternoon.
“My doctor has scheduled me for a knee surgery on next Saturday, for my ACL(Anterior Cruciate Ligament) was torn at least 50% , according to the X-rays and the surgery,” said Mr. M, “And he has expected that by the time of surgery the swelling on my knee will go away completely, and I will be able to bend my knee up to 110 degrees.” After a thoroughly diagnosis accompanied with a message I told him that, “In such a condition, usually you need three acupuncture treatments and take some Chinese herbs to heal your knee.”
I had attended his wedding a few years ago, so instead of asking him to come for treatment once a week for three weeks, I told him to come on that very Saturday, as well as on next Monday, Wednesday, and Friday if needed. I wanted to help him avoid having a knee surgery.
During the initial treatment I made the swelling went down to under 30 percents, by blood letting, cupping and massage with herbal lotion. And he was able to bend his knee up to 110 degrees during the treatment. When he came back on Saturday, he was able to bend his knee up to 130 degrees, as well as able to stretch it out all the way, without the help of his hands or mine. According to the Chinese Medicine and my experience, he did not have to undergo a knee surgery. Besides, there are some Chinese herbs that help the body to heal the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones if they were torn or broken, such as Xu-Duan (續斷) and Gu--BU(骨碎補).
But a strange incidence was happened on the next Monday, when he came in for the third treatment, there was a chiropractor came in next. This chiropractor had come for one treatment about 3 to 4 years ago. Anyway, after I worked on Mr. M for a while I was expecting him to come in to the next treatment room, for Mr. M’s knee was healing up very quick, and it was not necessary to spend too much time on it.
Well, I had no idea why the chiropractor had to keep talking to my wife. Therefore, after working on Mr. M for over an hour, I stopped. Then when he came out of the treatment room and came to the front desk, the chiropractor started to chat with him instead of coming for his own treatment right away. He told him that he had his own practice in town, also at the hospital near the ski area where Mr. M had had the ski accidents.
A week later, Mr. M told me that, “During my knee surgery my wife and I were able to see that the surgeon had put four cameras into my knee., and found out that my ACL was not torn.” Another ten days later, he brought a vedio tape of his knee surgery to me, to see what else I could do for him. At the time I was teaching acupuncture, so I asked him if I could share the information with my students. He smiled with a nod, and then left.
My students and I wondered, if Mr. M’s ACL was not torn why the surgeon did not let it alone? Instead, he chopped off some of the condyle, both medial and lateral, of his femur with a chisel. In addition, with a tool that looked like a pac-man, he chew some tissues within his knee away, include some spots of the cartilage.
What could I tell Mr. M after I watched his video tape? The surgery was his choice! If he had paid $1,000 from his own pocket for a MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), pretty much he would not undergo a knee surgery. Unfortunately, he had misdiagnosed himself, and then mistreated by someone else. All I could tell him was If he would come for rehabilitation, he needed to come once a week for four months, and due to the scar tissues I won’t be able to cure his knee for over 85%. I hope that his knee surgery is a case for you to learn.
On August 6 of 2004, a woman pushed her husband, Mr. C, in my clinic with a wheelchair, after his doctor had told him that he had only six months to live. If he would try to have a liver transplant, the success rate was only 10% according to the doctors. But over seven years later, he is still alive and healthy. How and why?
First of all, according to the Chinese Medicine there are four kinds of medical diagnosis --- 望(Wang, to observe), 聞(Wen, to lisen), 問(Wen, to ask) and切(Qie, to palpate). The Chinese character 聞(Wen) has also another meaning, which is “to smell the smell.” And if a doctor could tell a patient’s illnesses by observation, he is honored as if he is as amaze as a god (神, Shen); if he could tell the patient’s illnesses by the patient's talking, coughing, hiccups, and any noise made by him, the doctor is honored as if he is a saint (聖, Sheng); what if he could figure out a patient’s illnesses by inquisition, he is considered as good as an engineer(工, Gong); and if he could find out the patient’s illnesses by touching, includes pulse-taking and massage, people believed that he is as skillful as a mechnic (巧, Qiao). In general, a Chinese doctor should learn all of these techniques and practice them as a whole, to assure that the patient was treated appropriately and healed.
Mr. C, white and was an alcoholic for decades, and then he had developed severe cirrhosis and was treated and announced to have only six months to live by his doctors. Upon his initial visit, I was able to see that all over his body, included his eyes, was in dark-yellow color, which indicated that he had severe jaundice, a problem of his liver. His circomsference was too big (later I had measured it , 49.5 inches) and his legs were swollen, which indicated that the functions of his spleen and kidneys were too weak.
He told me that he was taking water-pills to diminish the swelling in his legs, but the swelling was still too much. Then I used my two palms and ten fingers as radars, for the purpose of diagnosis to be albe to get more detail information from his legs and abdomin. Meanwhile, I practiced Qigong(氣功) massage to increase his own and natural healing power. During the initial visit, I did acupuncture, massage, and teach him Qigong, and my wife prescribed and cooked herbs for him to drink. In four hours, as I had told him in advance, he had received acupuncture, Qigong massage, drank herbs, and tried to urinate and exercise repeatly.
The next day, Sunday, my wife and I came to our clinic, just to work on him, no other patient else. We repeated the same procedure for three hours. He was able to get on and off the bed easily, instead of having difficulty to stand up from the wheelchair as of yesterday. The color of his skin and eyes were turn into light yellow, and the swelling on his legs went down, too. Another two days later, Tuesday, he walked in my clinic with the help of a walker, and his circumsference went down to 47.5 inches. In addition, while he was lying down on the bed he was able to breathe normally with his mouth closed, for the first time since I had seen him. Furthermore, he became more energetic.
But when he went back to his doctor on Wednesday for a weekly check-up, his doctor called me for a warning by saying, “Mr. C’s ammonia level is increasing so fast and high, if this condition kept going on he might die in two weeks.” The next day ( Thursday) when Mr. C came for his fourth treatment, he told me that, “The normal reading of ammonia in the blood should be between 20 to 40 units, but once my reading was up to 240 units and my doctor was able to bring it down to 40 units, and then it went up again, to 70 or 80 units before I came to you for help.” ( P. S. --- At first I had no idea about what the normal reading should be, then I found out the so-called normal range is different from expert to expert, such as 15 to 50 mcg/dl, 15 to 60 mcg/dl or 15 to 110 mcg/dl in adults.)
It was good to have a warning from his doctor, and to know that the ammonia level was up to 120 or 140 units within a week. I didn’t want Mr. C to be scared, so I cut down the doses of Chinese herbs. During the first two weeks, totally my wife and I had worked on him for 16 hours, and some changes were recorded as following.

As a practitioner of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, we were recommended to apply all of the techniques of 望(Wang), 聞(Wen), 問(Wen) and 切(Qie) to diagnose a patient. Therefore, if we should take a blood test of a patient, should we get the blood from his brain, heart, liver, lung, stomach, and so on, to be able to see a whole picture of his illnesses?
Obviously, in Mr. C’s case, the ammonia level in his blood test could not reflect the total amount of ammonia in his liver or his whole body. When I was trying to discharge the ammonia from his liver with Chinese herbs, the reading should be higher in his blood vessels. He should not be scared by the reading, as I did not mind if I had to stop my car on the highway during the circumstance of rush hours.
Unfortunately, around the world the patients are misdiagnosed and mistreated decades after decades. And Mr. C was told by his doctor that he had only six months to live, is one of the kind.
What does refunction mean? I have created the word, refunction, to stand for “restore the function of infection.” And according to the Wikipedia, an infection is the colonization of a host organism by parasite species, and the infecting parasites seek to use the host’s resources to reproduce, often resulting in disease. Therefore, I have created another word, outfection, which is a treatment for guiding the parasites, tumor and cancer out of the skin. Outfection is one of the best treatments for tumor and cancer patients based on my experience. Probably, you might ask me --- Does it work for breast cancer, too? Yes, absolutely. But…..
Remember, you are your own primary healthcare practitioner, if you had ever misdiagnosed yourself or the timing of procedure was inaccurate, you might be mistreated by the next practitioner, no matter what he is a traditional Western doctor, Oriental doctor, or Acupuncturist.
However, as heartburn is not a disease of the heart, so infection is not a disease itself. In fact, infection is a function for fighting against the parasites, cyst, tumor, cancer, and so on. That’s why a doctor should not be an infection-killer or pain-killer, because an infection needs lots of energy to be able to push tumor or cancer out of our bodies, especially through the skin. In addition, whenever a high level of energy is formed somewhere it would develop a sensation of pain. Furthermore, whoever is afraid of pain, is likely unable to overcome a tumor or cancer all by himself.
In 1995, there was a woman, whose left breast was cut out completely due to cancer, so the cancer was gone. But she did not REFUNCTION, so two years later her right breast had cancer again. She did not want the whole right breast be removed, so her surgeon only cut the cancerous part out. About one month later, the size of the cancer became doubled.
She did not want to see her surgeon again, but came to see me from South Dakota instead. I applied caster seed and garlic on the wound to REFUNCTION, as well as for the purpose of OUTFECTION. She had four acupuncture treatments in ten days, and also had drunk herbal tea on daily basis. Then I sent her home with some herbs to drink in two weeks. Back and forth twice, her breast cancer was cured in about seven weeks, and so far (in 2011) she is cancer free, because she had been REFUNCTIONed.
If you had a breast cancer removed, it would be better not to close the would to tight. In addition, you may ask your acupuncturist to do moxibustion on the wound to increase the natural immunity, to prevent the cancer from coming back. What if the tumor or cancer is deep under the skin, and the patient does not want to see a traditional physician, it would be more difficult to get it out by infection.
Once, in late February of 1993, a woman ( Ms. L) whose income was so limited, and she did not have any health insurance, either. So she come to me for help for a big lump (about the size of a yolk) in her breast, about one inch under the skin. I told her that she needed to REFUNCTION by making a OUTFECTION. She did not mind the pain and was able to come for a check-up at any time as needed. I poke the lump with a needle and applied some herbs on the skin, just above the lump. Later on she started to feel a sensation of pain, and it went deeper and deeper everyday. On day 10, the pain was so sharp and all night she was unable to sleep.
The next morning, I massaged her breast and the lump was softened. Therefore I used a suction cup to pull out the "evidence" of the infection. It came out a little bit of pus, and the pain was subsided as well. Another ten days later, the whole lump was turned into pus completely. After all of the pus was discharged by her infection, the wound was healed in a few days. And about eight years later, during the last one follow-up phone call, she told me that she did not have any breast lump or cancer again.
Ah, no pain, no gain! Remember, you are your own and primary healthcare practitioner. If you had misdiagnosed yourself, probably you could be mistreated by someone else, too.
One afternoon in 1988, a cardiac surgeon came to my clinic and showed me a condition on his left foot. He had a tumor, which was under the sesamoid bone, removed almost a month ago, but there it was still swollen, pain, and red in color. He was mad at his co-worker, another surgeon, so he was searching for a better way to heal the wound. I could tell that he was very frustrated.
Upon seeing his left foot I told him that there was an infection, and immediately he denied it by saying, “No, there is no infection for I had an ultrasound imaging done this morning.” “Well, you are right according to the Western Medicine, “ I said, “but don’t you like to know about my opinion?” “Yes, that’s why I am here for,” he nodded.
Let’s see, since I was a little boy, I have been taught and experienced how an infection is so important in a healing process --- First of all, the brain has to coordinate the entire body to collect and send enough energy to heal a wound or a cut; or if there are any invaders, such as germs and parasites, it has to give an order to the immune system to fight against the invaders. Second, the procedure of an infection sounds like to resurface a highway, which bring lots of heavy trucks and equipments up on the highway, as well as outside the shoulders. And most of the time it needs to remove some of the top part of the highway before adding new material on it. In addition, it would have traffic control for sure. This is similar to an infection, which involves with swelling, pain, red in color and higher temperature around the wound.
The cardiac surgeon had taken antibiotics and pain killer daily since the surgery was done, it slowed down the healing. Also he had eaten some corns, nuts and shrimps, which created more problems for the function of the infection. Therefore, I told him that, “The pain is a sign of the infection, so as swelling and the redness of the wound. What is more, there is not scar tissues formed at all even though the drain was pull out about three weeks ago.
He signed up for an acupuncture treatment right away, and after I massaged the wound for over ten minutes, it popped and looked like two pieces of lips, which indicated that the infection was not complete yet. I had to help the infection to push some fluids out through the opening, to reduce the pain and the swelling. Then I sent him home with Chinese herbs to make tea and drink for three days. On day 4, his problem was gone, but he came back for three more packages of herbs. Since then we become good friends. A few years later he quitted his job and spent a lot of time in learning Oriental Medicine, for he wanted to help people to live a better life and undergo as less surgery as possible. He did not want his kind of frustration pass down to the others.
